Benedict Cumberbatch Nonsensically Interrogates Jimmy Fallon in New 'Mad Libs Theater'

No matter how bad the dialogue, the 'Sherlock' star proved he's still endlessly charming.

On Thursday's Tonight Show, Benedict Cumberbatch proved two things: He's an incredible actor even when he's speaking total gibberish, and Mad Libs are still just as funny as they used to be when you were a kid.

Host Jimmy Fallon had the Doctor Strange star play a round of "Mad Libs Theater," which turned out to be one of the funniest games in Fallon's repertoire.

After having Cumberbatch list off random words in traditional Mad Libs style, they were quickly used to fill in the blanks in dialogue for a scene the English thespian had no prior knowledge of.

When it finally came time to stage their ridiculous script -- in which Cumberbatch played a police detective interrogating a criminal played by Fallon -- it was next to impossible for the pair to keep a straight face.

Affecting what must have been an attempt at a gruff New York accent, Cumberbatch started off strong and forcefully, whereas Fallon lasted about two lines before breaking like always. However, the insanity of the situation soon sent the Sherlock star into fits of laughter as well.

To be fair, it was amazing that they even got though bonkers lines like, "Why did the security camera footage show you gyrating just half a millimeter away from the crime scene?" Hopefully, Doctor Strange will have dialogue just as memorable (if not a little less insane).
