Tamar Braxton Addresses Her 'Breakup' From New Boyfriend David Adefeso (Exclusive)

The ‘Braxton Family Values’ star tells ET she and her man split for ‘20 minutes’ after a dramatic weekend.

Tamar Braxton’s no longer hiding her new man!

"Right now, we're just really enjoying each other," Braxton tells ET. "[We’re] having an amazing time getting to know each other."

The 42-year-old made things red carpet official with her boo, wealth strategist David Adefeso, on Tuesday night at the Braxton Family Values season six premiere event at the Doheny Room in Los Angeles. The duo posed for photos together, with Adefeso whispering sweet nothings in Braxton’s ear, making her appear totally smitten. When the photographers asked Adefeso to “give the lady a kiss,” Braxton started blushing, telling the photogs she was “too shy.” She was still flustered when she stepped over to talk to ET.

"Ahh! You know, I was trying to get away from that," she admits. "I don't even know how to act about that. This is like, what happened?"

The pair’s red carpet debut came just days after reports surfaced that Braxton and Adefeso had split following a dramatic weekend in Napa Valley, California, with Braxton’s entire family. The weekend was a joint birthday celebration for Tamar and her sister, Traci.

"Well you know -- ahem -- we was in Napa, it was a lot of wine happening," Tamar explains. "I was in my feelings, and we broke up for, like, 20 minutes. But now we're back together, stronger than ever."

Braxton Family Values fans will get to see Braxton and Adefeso’s dynamic play out onscreen in the new batch of episodes, something Braxton admits she’s a little nervous about.

"I thought long and hard about it," she shares. "[But] I mean, it's what my life is about, so why not? We're not hiding anything, so why not?"

The "Love and War" singer admits she’s not quite ready to think about marriage with Adefeso, though, seeing as her divorce from estranged husband Vincent Herbert has yet to be finalized. Braxton filed for divorce in October 2017.

"It ain't final!" she laments. "That's why I was tryin' to say I don't know [about marrying Adefeso]. I was tryin' be nice!"

"Here is the thing, it's not that Vince is a horrible person," she adds. "I'm just ready to move on with the next chapter of my life. That's where I'm at."

Braxton says she and Herbert are not friends, but are on good terms for the sake of their son, 5-year-old Logan.

"We want to make it work, and Logan is such an amazing kid that he deserves to have amazing parents to get along enough for him," she says. "And that's what we do."

Braxton has already introduced Logan to Adefeso, and she says the two hit it off right away and play around "all the time."

"Oh, they love each other!" she gushes. "They're like two peas in a pod, it's so crazy. My son is obsessed with Sonic the Hedgehog and so, David is 'Sonic' and [Logan] is 'Shadow' … and they do yoga, it's the craziest thing ever."

Braxton is returning to Braxton Family Values after going on strike from the show with three of her sisters. Only Traci continued to film for the first half of season six, while Tamar, Toni, Trina and Towanda worked through contract negotiations. The fact that Traci didn’t go on strike, too, did not sit well with the sisters. The family’s fight over that led to a dramatic, multiepisode family therapy session on the show, led by Fix My Life host Iyanla Vanzant. The Celebrity Big Brother winner says "only the holy ghost" got the family through everything.

"I’m just really glad that everybody's in a better place," Braxton notes. "I love WE tv and I am excited about our new ventures, and the new relationships. I mean, look, we've been together for a long time and so, that's expected with any sort of long relationship. So, we're back. And better than ever."

Braxton Family Values returns to WE tv on Thursday, April 4, at 9 p.m. ET.
