Andy Richter is everything you wanted in a high school drama teacher -- or everything you wanted to avoid.

The 50-year-old comedian guest stars on this week's episode of Life in Pieces, playing Samantha's (Holly J. Barrett) high school musical director, Julius Black, who brings an interesting approach to the school's upcoming performance of Silence of the Lambs: The Musical.

Unfortunately, Sam gets cast as Clarice's understudy in the production, prompting Heather (Betsy Brandt) to try and confront Julius about the decision.

"Look, Mrs. Hughes. If this is about the part of Clarice, I can't discuss it," Julius tells Heather while running rehearsals. "We at the school have a strict PNIS policy. We're very firm!"

"You have a what?!" Heather asks, clearly confused.

"A PNIS policy: Parental Non-Involvement at School?" he snaps back, before the girl cast as Clarice demonstrates her (lack of) singing chops.

"Brava, Miss Sloane!" Julius yells after her performance.

"Wait, she's a Sloane?" Heather inquires, connecting the dots as to why Sam was cast as the understudy.
