Becca Kufrin couldn't be a more perfect choice to be the new Bachelorette -- with or without that brutal breakup from Arie Luyendyk Jr.
ET's Lauren Zima was exclusively with the brunette beauty at her first official photo shoot to kick off the season, where she reacted to Luyendyk saying that he chose to air their unedited split in order to help her chances at becoming the Bachelorette.
"Well, that's news to me!" Kufrin shared. "I don't think he ever expected me to be [the Bachelorette], or how everything played out, so that's his side. I don't know."
In his interview with ET after The Bachelor's season finale, Luyendyk said that he would have ended his engagement to Kufrin regardless of whether his runner-up, Lauren Burnham, took him back. He also said that despite the dramatic finish to his season, he and Burnham (who got engaged on After the Final Rose), "could comfortably watch" Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette.
"I mean, I figured," Kufrin told ET of her reaction to Luyendyk tuning in to her season. "Actually, we had conversations when we were still together, like, 'Who do you think it could be, as the next Bachelorette?' So I figured he would watch the show."
Kufrin's first night of filming started last Thursday, with a source telling ET at the time that she has moved on from Luyendyk -- but might still have her guard up.
"She was humiliated over what Arie did. She put her heart out there and gave everything. He didn't take it seriously," the source said. "For Becca, the relationship was real. You don't accept a proposal thinking you're not going to actually get married."
Now, Kufrin is looking for "loyalty and honesty" in a partner, as well as someone with a "great personality," ET's source explained. "We saw her ex, Ross [Jirgl], on the show -- that's more her physical type. She likes handsome, beefy guys, but ultimately she just wants someone who's real."
"She's not one of those people who went on the show for Instagram followers,” the source added. “She's got a killer job, she's a good person and she really wants to find somebody."
Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette premieres May 28 on ABC. See more in the video below.
