Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato Join Forces on New Song 'Fall in Line' -- Listen

Aguilera praised Lovato's 'beautiful work' on Twitter.

Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato have joined forces, but that doesn't mean they're ready to "fall in line."

The powerhouse singers collaborated on Aguilera's newest track, which was released on Wednesday, and it's pretty empowering. "Fall in Line," off Aguilera's upcoming album, Liberation, encourages girls to speak up and think for themselves.

"Little girls / Listen closely / 'Cause no one told me / But you deserve to know / That in this world / You are not beholden / You do not owe them/ Your body and your soul / All the youth in the world will not save you from growing older / And all the truth in the girl is too precious to be stolen from her," Aguilera sings on the track, before Lovato jumps in.

"It's just the way it is / Maybe it's never gonna change / But I got a mind to show my strength / And I got my right to speak my mind / And I'm gonna pay for this / They're gonna burn me at the stake / But I got a fire in my veins / I wasn't made to fall in line / No, I wasn't made to fall in line / No," they belt out.

Aguilera couldn't help but celebrate her new song on Twitter, writing, "I believe our paths were destined to cross and I am so proud to come together from the pasts we’ve overcome; to the strong women we are today! You are truly a GEM, I have immense love and respect for you! You are an inspiration for future young girls of your generation. Beautiful work! #FallInLine @ddlovato ♥️."

"BUCKET LIST ITEM 1 ✔️ @xtina featuring me ?? #FALLINLINE http://demilovato.co/fallinline," Lovato added. "I hope you love this song as much as I do. It’s such an honor to lend my voice to this anthem for women with one of the most inspiring individuals I’ve ever met."

Lovato first hinted at her collaboration with Aguilera in an interview with Billboard in February, teasing that while she "can't give away" who the artist was, "it's an incredible song." Aguilera finally confirmed her collab with Lovato in her May interview with Billboard.

"We went through a few names of women. I needed a belty singer, and she took it to the next level," she said. "I almost cried when I first heard her on the record."
