The singer reveals that her ex 'didn't want to talk' after blasting her relationship with Russell Wilson in an interview.

Ciara is a strong mama!

The singer opened up about motherhood and being publicly criticized by her child's father, rapper Future, in the media.

"It's been very interesting to hear what a lot of guys have to say," she said on CBS This Morning on Wednesday, responding to Future's controversial comments regarding Ciara's current boyfriend -- Russell Wilson -- pushing the former couple's son around in a stroller.

"You never do that in our community," Future said in an interview with The Breakfast Club last month. "You don't even bring a man around your son. You only know this dude for a few months and you're bringing him around your kid? Who does that? Nobody does that."

Now, Ciara is firing back with some powerful words.

"It's a bit of a double standard," she said on Wednesday. "When we were together, I took care of his kids as well at a very young time in our relationship."

Future, 31, has fathered four biological children -- including Ciara's 1-year-old son -- and adopted one child.

"I was involved [with his other children] very early in the stage of us getting to know each other," she said. "That's been a big conversation, like, 'What's the difference here?' I think that even for the men that are outspoken -- wouldn't you want someone to love on your child? Or love on the child you're speaking about?"

Following Future's headline-making interview, Ciara said: "I did reach out to my son's father for him and Russell to speak, and he didn't want to talk to me. We didn't get to talk, and so that was that.

"I don't know what more they would expect me to do than just live my life," she continued. "That's what I'm doing and my son is the most important."

The 29-year-old has been busy promoting her new album, Jackie, which she says was largely inspired by motherhood.

"I wanted for people to get to really hear my voice and after having my child, it kind of allowed me to be in tune with my true feelings and my true thoughts," she said. "I am who I am. Take it or leave it. I just poured all that into the music and allowed myself to be free in the process."

Ciara has been very open about her personal life these days, including discussing boyfriend Wilson's revelation that the couple is currently practicing celibacy.

"I think the cool thing is just being able to share our journey with other people like us," she said. "It is a great challenge, I can definitely say that, but it's awesome because we get to really challenge ourselves and get to know each other and really build a foundation."
