ET is taking a walk down memory lane with Justin Timberlake.

The GRAMMY winner is less than two months away from headlining the Super Bowl LII Half Time show, a performance that will kick off a big year for Timberlake, as well as his fifth studio album. In honor of his upcoming accomplishments, ET's Facebook Watch series, When We First Met, is looking back at his incredible evolution.

The 36-year-old singer has come a long way in his two and a half decades in the industry; he made his first TV appearance in a cowboy hat and boots as an 11-year-old on Star Search. Six years -- and a Micky Mouse Club -- later, the performer met ET for the first time with curly bleach blond hair and smooth moves as part of *NSYNC.

"It's called adolescence, and it's painful for all of us," he joked to ET in 2007. "And look, you can reference a lot of my bad hair days, because they're on the red carpet."

It's true, ET was there with Timberlake through his many hair phases, relationships and career highs and lows. And while he's gone on to win 10 GRAMMYs and four Emmys, at the end of the day, it's always been about music.

"I was always the type of young person who was very determined to do something," he told ET in 2006. "I didn't know what I was going to do, but I was going to do something. And music, I found all roads led back to that."
