As the world continues to mourn the death of Prince, two shows that he appeared on, New Girl and Saturday Night Live, have announced that they are planning tributes to the late icon.

Playing himself in the episode, the GRAMMY winner invites Jess (Deschanel) and Cece (Hannah Simone) to a party he's throwing. Prince also is featured performing his song "FALLINLOVE2NITE" from the 2015 album Hit n Run Phase One.

The cast and creator Liz Meriwether were among those who honored Prince on Thursday following the news of his death.

"This is the happiest Jake will ever be wearing eyeliner," Max Greenfield tweeted alongside a photo of Jake Johnson dressed as The Purple One. "I still can't believe he was on our show #Prince."

Additionally, Saturday Night Live will air a retrospective called SNL: Goodnight Sweet Prince on Saturday, which will highlight Prince's incredible performances at Studio 8H over the years.

One of Prince's most memorable SNL performances came in 2014 when he performed an eight-minute set in the middle of the episode, as opposed to the usual two-performance format for musical guests.
