'America's Got Talent': Emotional Performances, High-Tech Mentalists & More Highlights From Week 7
NBC's hit talent competition airs Tuesday and ET is breaking down all the biggest moments of the night.
America's Got Talent returned to TV on Tuesday for the seventh night of auditions, and the competition continues to shine bigger and brighter than ever! ET is following along throughout the two-hour episode to break down all the best, biggest and most surprising moments.
Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum are judging and voting on a whole new slate of AGT hopefuls, who are giving it their all for a shot at moving on to the next round of competition, or maybe earning the coveted Golden Buzzer!
Last week, the judges made history when all four of them, along with host Terry Crews, came together to slam the Golden Buzzer in unison for 9-year-old singer Victory Brinker, who stunned everyone with her incredible operatic voice.
Tonight, the fun kicks off at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, and you can follow along with ET for a look at all the acts who gave it their best shot during another exciting week of America's Got Talent.
Ray Singleton Brings the Tears
Ray is a powerful singer with a beautiful voice who is singing for his wife -- a US NAVY vet and brain cancer survivor who is filled with love for Ray.
He sings a soulful tune, "I Am Yours," that is filled with incredible power and beautiful emotion, and his wife says she's never heard him sing so beautifully as he just did.
The judges are floored by their love story, and his wife's tenacity, and add his voice to the mix and there's no way the judges couldn't love him.
They end up giving Ray four yes votes and thus ends Tuesday's seventh week of auditions on a true high note!
Scarlett Business Stuns the Judges
Kyle Cragle -- a.k.a. Scarlett Business -- is a hand-standing contortionist and drag queen, and he's next-level great at both endeavors.
Scarlett's appearance is a surprise for the judges, but there's no denying the level of talent when it comes to the contortionist performance and there's a lot of love from the judges.
All four give well-deserved yes votes!
Kevin Micoud Is a Mental Mentalist
There have been a lot of mentalists on AGT -- but few have the kind of high-tech showmanship of French mentalist Kevin Micoud.
As part of the act, Kevin had Heidi and Sofia chose from an array of past AGT performers. Then, he "transfers" their choices into Terry's brain using a holographic interface depicting a human brain.
The use of digital tech blended with old-school mentalism and tradition is, as Simon says, a perfect example of how to "take this act into the future."
The judges are overwhelmed with appreciation for Kevin and end up giving him four "oui" votes (because he's French, obviously).
Michael Winslow Makes His Comeback
Police Academy star Michael Winslow took a break from acting, but now he's back to showcase his incredible talents as a "voicetrumentalist."
Blending storytelling with comedy and his uncanny mimicry skills, Winslow is effortlessly entertaining and the judges just love him.
Howie calls him "amazing" and Sofia thinks his whole act is "incredible."
Simon says he's "ecstatic" to have Winslow in the competition, and gives one of the comic's four yes votes, thus moving him to the next round!
Hello Sister Get Mixed Reactions but Love from the Crowd
Hello Sister is a band made up of young girls who perform an original tune, "Middle Schooler," which is about their experiences in school.
The performance is fun and quasi-retro and wows Simon and Sofia but leaves Howie and Heidi feelings a bit cold toward their sound.
After Simon and Sofia give them yes votes, Howie says he's not sure, and the overwhelming booing from the audience toward his opinion on the girls finally convinces him and Heidi to give Hello Sister two more yes votes for a total of four.
Erlich Is a Next-Level Light Artist
Erlich's act is hard to explain, but it makes sense why he's so confident he came all the way from The Philippines to audition!
Armed with two glowing light sticks, Erlich wows in near-dark by making the illuminated poles (one of which becomes a hoop) float and dance in the darkness around him.
It's a unique, special act that the judges can't quite define and one that defies explanation, but there's no denying it's impressive power.
"That is an art form I don't think we've ever seen," Howie says. "I loved it. Thank you for being here."
"It was flawless. That was a very special show, and it was different than anything I've seen," Sofia says, and Simon agrees.
Needless to say, Erlich earns himself four yes votes, meaning we'll get to see his unique act yet again this season.
Kid Dancers Michael & Angelina Impress
These kids dancers are here to make their dancing dreams come true.
And they really up their game with a wild routine that blows the judges away.
Even Howie -- who has been buzzing people all day -- gives them a standing ovation!
Sarah Potenza Is 'Worthy'
Sarah, from Rhode Island, has wanted to be a singer since she was a 4-year-old girl. Now, at 41, she has a chance to prove herself and it's not an opportunity she's willing to pass on.
The songstress delivered a stunning rendition of a song called "Worthy" that is such a perfect summation of her life and her goals and her message.
Her stunning, soaring vocals earned her a standing ovation from all four judges and she's brought to tears by their love and support.
"This is the perfect moment for you to be here," Sofia praises.
"Your voice is stunning. The song choice was great. You have a great personality," Simon says. "You were extraordinary."
She ends up earning four yes votes and will have the chance to keep chasing her dreams as the season continues.
Buzzing Galore
This is a long montage of acts that the judges hate -- from a woman on ice skates playing a guitar to a group of male strippers and a man who plays music by flicking his cheek.
It culminates in a US Marine Corps drummer who seems like he's got a lot of potential but then comes out dressed like a chicken and everyone hates it.
Hiplet Ballerinas Want to Change Minds and Inspire
When this group of Hiplet Ballerinas hits the stage, Simon says he's never really liked ballet performances, because they often just bore him.
Clearly, Simon is unfamiliar with Hiplet, because he's taken by surprise when the music changes from traditional orchestral to modern hip hop. Hiplet, of course, is a portmanteau of "hip hop" and "ballet," and these women are incredible.
All four judges are stunned, and Simon says it was a "really, really good audition."
The number seems to have changed Simon's mind about the possibilities of ballet, and the group earns four yes votes.
The King Fu Fam Aims High
A kung fu expert known as The Modern Shaolin and his 11-year-old son, The Young Warrior, have come from London to show off their skills to the AGT judges.
This father-son martial arts demonstration is a blend of strength showcases and acrobatic skills, and it's clearly a fan favorite for a lot of people.
The father-son element is sure to play to Simon's tastes, since being a dad is such a big part of his life. He also admits that the pair's accents make him a little homesick.
The judges absolutey love the routine, with Heidi praising it for never getting boring.
"I was just thinking about me and my son. I've sort of got to the stage after I broke my back where I'm walking round the garden with him, and I think it's a big deal, and now I'm looking at that going, 'Not so great, is it?'" Simon says with a laugh.
As expected, the pair get four yes votes and will be moving on.
ET recently spoke with Crews about how this season of America's Got Talent has really brought an entirely new level of energy and excitement after coming back from the pandemic.
"There was a moment when we never knew if we would come back," Crews shared, adding that with the benefit of hindsight, no one -- not the judges or the performers -- took anything for granted this season.
"There was not one ounce of cynicism on the show," Crews explained.
