'Love Island' Recoupling Ends in Shocking Triple Elimination as One Islander Decides to Exit on Their Own

Wednesday's episode saw an unexpected exit that viewers did not see coming.

What just happened?!

Wednesday's Love Island kicked off with a recoupling ceremony, which ended in a shocking triple Islander elimination that viewers did not see coming.

With the girls choosing who they wanted to pair up with, the couples who continued were: Caro and Ray, Elizabeth and Zac, Aissata and Yamen, and Alexandra and Dylan.

Things turned suspenseful when it came to newcomer Emily -- who had been into Weston and Eric. The brunette beauty ultimately decided to choose Weston, leaving Kelsey hurt as her former partner was taken away from her. What happened next, was not something the Islanders saw coming.

"I came into this villa with an open heart and open mind. I genuinely came in here looking for love and even though I didn't find that, I met some amazing people along the way," Kelsey said. "Right now, I think I need to do what's best for me. So right now, I choose to remove myself from the villa."

With Jered, Eric and Anton left, Kyra was next. Explaining that she and her chosen guy had a lot in common and she would like to get to know him more, Kyra picked newcomer Jered.

It was then a tearful goodbye as Kelsey packed her bags and Weston tried to go after her to talk. However, set on leaving the villa, Kelsey did not want to discuss what just happened any further with her former flame.

"Don't feel bad, seriously. This was the right decision for everybody," Kelsey told Weston as she walked down the stairs. "I promise, you guys made the right decision."

While it was a tearful goodbye, as Eric and Anton also departed, there was a happy ending for Caro and Ray who got chosen to have a special night together in the Hideaway. Dylan and Alexandra also got a chance to go on a romantic date together.

But in true Love Island fashion, the Islanders can't get too comfortable as at the end of the episode, viewers were once again asked to vote for their favorite couple. Those in the bottom two will risk elimination. Find out who gets elimination on Thursday's episode.
