Following his shocking death, Luke Perry’s children are slowly returning to their lives.
On Sunday, his 18-year-old daughter, Sophie Perry, shared a new post from Malawi, East Africa, heading back to the country after returning to the U.S. for her father’s funeral. In the image, she wears a ball cap that's familiar to Perry's fans during a ride through the sprawling countryside.
"First few days back in Malawi have been very emotional but it feels right to come back, to finish what I started, to do the most with whatever time we have left," she wrote, later hinting that she wants to make her father proud. "I recently learned that may not be as much time as we think. It was quick and scary to leave home again so soon, but there’s a job to be done, and someone to make proud. Also excuse my 'post 30 hours o travel' face."
As fans know, the cap she's wearing, featuring the words "Andrews Construction" on the front, is the cap her father wore in Riverdale. His character, Fred Andrews, owned and operated the construction company. When fans took notice of the prop, Sophie confirmed in the comments that "it was his hat from wardrobe."
Fellow Riverdale stars like Skeet Ulrich and Mark Consuelos were quick to chime in on her post, offering Sophie their support. "So proud of you!!!!" the Scream alum commented.
Likewise, Luke’s 21-year-old son, Jack Perry, is returning to work -- in his case, that means once again stepping into the ring as his professional wrestling alter ego "Jungleboy."
"I'm not sure I’ll ever be ready, but I'm back," Jack captioned a new compilation of clips from a recent wrestling event. "Thanks for all the love and support."
Once again Ulrich offered some encouragement and hinted that he'll see him wrestle soon: "Can't wait for Vegas!!!! Proud of you."
Perry died in early March following complications from a stoke, leading to an outpouring of posts and messages from friends, family and fans offering their thoughts and condolences. Among them were Sophie's moving words on her father's passing, as well as numerous photos.
Although she received sweeping support online, she also received criticism, prompting a swift response.
"Since my dad died I have received a lot of attention online, and most of it has been positive but of course, some people just can’t be nice.... I am going to laugh and smile and live my normal life," she wrote. "YES I am hurt and sad and crying and beside myself with what happened to my dad. It’s the worst thing to ever happen in my life. And I am torn the f**k up over it. But I’m not going to sit in my room and cry day in and day out until the internet has deemed it appropriate for me to do otherwise. And if you knew my dad you would know he wouldn’t want me to. So you shouldn’t either."
