Ricki Lake Shows Off 30-Pound Weight Loss in Sports Bra: 'We Did This Without Relying on a Pharmaceutical'

The former TV host gets candid about her weight loss journey on Instagram.

Ricki Lake is celebrating a hard-earned accomplishment! The 55-year-old former talk show host took to Instagram over the weekend to share her more than 30-pound weight loss.

"I’ve been wanting to share with you what I’ve been up to these last 4 months," she wrote. "On October 26th, 2023 I made a commitment to myself to get healthier."

Lake shared that along with her husband, Ross Burningham, they have each lost "30+ lbs."

"I really want to share, because we did this without relying on a pharmaceutical. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.)," Lake added, seemingly referencing the popular weight loss trend of using the drug Ozempic. "But neither of us were pre diabetic and both of us felt like we wanted to at least try and do it on our own."

Noting that she's currently in "perimenopause," Lake added, "I was a bit worried, that my body would not drop the lbs like it had in the past."

As for the results, Lake is thrilled.

"I am so so proud of us. I feel amazing. I feel strong. 💪" she wrote.

Adding that she plans to go into detail about her weight loss regimen in a future post, Lake called this the "healthiest way" she's lost weight in her life.

As for her current weight, Lake shared that she now weights 140 pounds, noting, "(I only started weighing myself on 11/15/23) guessing I was about 170 when I started. I'm 5'3"."

In a series of pics from her health journey, Lake proudly showed off her progress. One mirror selfie, Lake posed in a sports bra and leggings, showing off her slimmed-down torso.

In September 2022, Lake opened up to ET about her journey to self-love and acceptance, sharing, "I've never been more content or happy in my life."

"I think losing Christian to bipolar and suicide and going through that loss, like the way he loved me and losing him, I now love myself the way he loved me," she said of her late ex-husband, who died in 2017. "It's like I've come to this place of self-acceptance and self-love through that relationship and losing him."

Lake announced her marriage to Burningham in January 2022.
