Nikki Glaser Thinks Tom Brady Got 'a Little More Than He Had Planned For' at His Netflix Roast

Nikki Glaser participated in Netflix's special, 'The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady.'

In the aftermath of Tom Brady expressing regret over his participation in Netflix's The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, comedian Nikki Glaser has weighed in on the controversy.

During a recent appearance on Today With Hoda & Jenna, 39-year-old Glaser, who was one of the comedians to roast Brady at the event, shared her thoughts on the athlete's sentiments.

Glaser remarked that 46-year-old Brady "maybe didn’t consider the backlash from his family and how it would affect them." However, she acknowledged his meticulous nature, stating, "But I also think Tom Brady does not do anything without doing his research and knowing exactly what he’s getting into."

Glaser reflected on Brady's perspective, suggesting that his status as a revered figure in professional sports might have shielded him from anticipating the intensity of the roast. "It’s impossible to me that he didn’t consider what could have happened because there's roast footage out there that you can watch and go, 'They're gonna go this hard.' But then, there's a part of me that thinks that Tom Brady, especially given his career and how much people love him, no one's ever said a bad thing to him in the past 30 years, so he doesn't know what anyone's capable of going there."

The seven-time Super Bowl champion appeared on The Pivot Podcast with Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder shortly after the roast and discussed what he liked and didn't like about the event and how the experience will make him a better father.

"I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn't like the way that it affected my kids," said Brady, who shares son, Benjamin, 14, and daughter, Vivian, 11, with his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, as well as son Jack, 16, with his ex, Bridget Moynahan. "So, it's the hardest part about the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize -- I wouldn't do that again because of the way it affected the people that I care about the most ... Like I said, when I signed up for that, I love when people were making fun of me."

Brady's failed marriage with Bündchen became a constant target during the three-and-a-half hour live event on Netflix, as was Bündchen's new relationship with Joaquim Valente. A source later told ET that "Gisele was upset and hurt by some of the jokes about her, her relationship with [boyfriend] Joaquim [Valente], and her marriage to Tom during his roast."

The source added, "Her main concern is always her children and family and she wants to protect them. She found some of the jokes to be distasteful and disrespectful."

Regarding the event itself, Glaser revealed that no specific guidelines were provided about what topics were off-limits. However, she and her fellow roasters collectively decided not to discuss Brady's children.

In response to reports that Bündchen was "deeply disappointed" by some of the jokes made during the roast, Glaser expressed remorse and extended an apology. "I hope she will forgive me someday because I absolutely love her," she told TMZ.

Glaser emphasized her admiration for Bündchen but also noted the roast's nature, stating, "You had to go there, it was a roast."
