<p>Cruella de Vil is in the building. Disney's&nbsp;<em>Cruella</em>&nbsp;has been nominated for the 2022 Academy Award for Costume Design as well as the Academy Award for Makeup and Hairstyling.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/emma-stone" target="_blank">Emma Stone</a> portrays the Disney villain from <em>101 Dalmatians</em> during her younger years in the&nbsp;movie,&nbsp;which is now streaming for free on&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/disney-plus" target="_blank">Disney+</a> and is also available to watch&nbsp;on Amazon for $4.&nbsp;</p>

'Cruella' is Now Streaming for Free to All Disney Plus Subscribers

<p>After the massively successful and eye-opening documentary,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/britney-spears-is-aware-of-new-unauthorized-documentary-about-her-life-source-says-160220" target="_blank"><em>The New York Times Presents Framing Britney Spears</em></a>, which provided&nbsp;a look&nbsp;into the pop star's <a href="https://www.etonline.com/britney-spears-speaks-to-court-directly-at-conservatorship-hearing-153010" target="_blank">ongoing conservatorship battle</a> with her father, Jamie Spears, as well as looking back at the&nbsp; singer's treatment by the media during her career, the same team is back with an all-new follow-up, <a data-link-format="text" data-link-region="body" data-link-subregion="ecom" data-link-type="skimlinks" data-promotional="true" data-store="hulu" href="https://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=BDq0JwVSVig&amp;offerid=852913.668&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0&amp;u1=160229" rel="sponsored" target="_blank"><em>Controlling Britney Spears</em></a>.</p>

<p>Directed by Samantha Stark and Produced by Liz Day, the new film&nbsp;features new allegations from insiders with intimate knowledge of the singer's&nbsp;ongoing, daily life inside the conservatorship.</p>

<p>"When Britney spoke publicly about her conservatorship in detail for the first time during a court hearing in June, she said a reason she hadn’t spoken up earlier is she didn’t think people would believe her," Stark says. "She said she felt abused under the conservatorship and questioned whether the judge thought she was lying."</p>

<p>After the first unauthorized <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/britney-spears" target="_blank">Spears</a> project, which is now streaming on <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/hulu" target="_blank">Hulu</a>, sparked renewed interest in the pop star's conservatorship and media scrutiny during the '90s and 2000s, the second film comes ahead of&nbsp;the latest court date, which is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 29, when&nbsp;the judge is expected to hear her&nbsp;request to remove her father from the conservatorship as well as her father’s petition to terminate the conservatorship.</p>

<p>Spears, meanwhile, is aware of the first documentary, which premiered on FX and <a href="https://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=BDq0JwVSVig&amp;offerid=852913.668&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0&amp;u1=160229" target="_blank">Hulu</a>&nbsp;in August, a source told ET. Meanwhile, Spears' boyfriend, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/sam-asghari-wants-britney-spears-to-finally-be-free-from-conservatorship-source-says-160388" target="_blank">Sam Asghari</a>, addressed the conservatorship battle on his Instagram Stories days after the documentary was released, calling out Britney's father, writing,&nbsp;"Now it's important for people to understand that I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles in our way.&nbsp;In my opinion Jamie is a total d**k."</p>

<p>A source told ET that Ashgari&nbsp;"finally hit a breaking point" that compelled him to speak publicly against Jamie, adding,&nbsp;"It seems like the documentary and the recent support coming from Britney's fans&nbsp;has&nbsp;given him the strength he needed to finally speak out."</p>

<p>Amid the films, there have been legal updates in the singer's&nbsp;13-year-long conservatorship battle. On Sept. 22, Britney's lawyer, Mathew&nbsp;Rosengart,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/britney-spears-lawyer-wants-jamie-out-as-conservator-immediately-expects-conservatorship-to-end" target="_blank">asked the court</a>&nbsp;to remove Jamie Spears as conservator immediately.</p>

<p>The singer&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/britney-spears-wants-dad-jamies-immediate-removal-from-conservatorship-170054" target="_blank">first requested</a>&nbsp;her father's removal as conservator in August, and asked that Jason Rubin be named to the role instead. Shortly thereafter,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/britney-spears-father-jamie-spears-willing-to-step-down-as-conservator-of-her-estate-when-the-time" target="_blank">Jamie said</a>&nbsp;that he was willing to step down from the role "when the time is right." The next month, Jamie&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/britney-spears-father-jamie-files-to-end-conservatorship-168129" target="_blank">filed court documents</a>&nbsp;to end Britney's conservatorship entirely.</p>

<p>Britney's latest docs requested that, while the court continues to consider completely terminating the conservatorship, it remove Jamie as conservator, and temporarily replace him&nbsp;until "the conservatorship is completely and inevitably terminated this fall."</p>

<p>Lin-Manuel Miranda spoke to ET's Keltie Knight in June, just weeks&nbsp;before the <em>Hamilton&nbsp;</em>film was set to drop on Disney+, about <a href="https://www.etonline.com/lin-manuel-miranda-and-the-hamilton-cast-on-why-the-musical-is-just-as-relevant-as-ever-exclusive" target="_blank">giving access to the smash Broadway musical to the masses.</a></p>

<p>"It means everything because&nbsp;accessibility was so important to us, from those live Ham for Ham shows to the whole front two rows being 10 bucks...&nbsp;That was really one of the reasons we wanted to film this. We wanted to capture this moment in time, capture this incredible company -- and we did it ourselves," Miranda explained.</p>

<p>How did the&nbsp;<em>Hamilton&nbsp;</em>team pull off filming?&nbsp;Miranda revealed that they hit record on&nbsp;several performances to capture it from all angles&nbsp;-- live performances on a Sunday matinee and a Tuesday,&nbsp;close-ups Sunday night&nbsp;and all day Monday on their day off and Tuesday morning.</p>

<p>"It is not easy to plan a film shoot while you are also performing eight shows a week," he cautioned. "But this is the fruits of our labor. Now the&nbsp;world gets to see <em>Hamilton </em>with that company at that moment almost five years ago to the day.&nbsp;I'm really glad we got it."</p>

<p>For what it's worth, the filmed version will be censored to satisfy its PG-13 rating, but not as much as some may have thought.</p>

<p>For the&nbsp;<em>Hamilton&nbsp;</em>cast, having the opportunity to experience that special moment in time again is a dream come true. Miranda revealed on Twitter in June that he "gave literally two 'f**ks' so the kids could see it."</p>

<p>"I already believed in the work we were doing and the way that I could honor that was to keep doing the work I was doing. As many superstars that you see on that screen, it was the most generous group of people you'd ever meet. It was about taking and it was about giving. It was really about setting your brother, setting your sister up for their moments too and supporting them," Odom Jr. said.&nbsp;"When Renee looks good, we all look good. When Daveed's moment&nbsp;pops and hits the way it's supposed to happen, we all look good. I saw all that. I saw the give and the take. I saw the sharing."</p>

<p>"We spin our wheels a lot on how to get more people into that show to the point where we were locking down a block of Broadway every other day to perform little snippets&nbsp;so people could get close to it," Diggs said. "This is the best way we have figured out thus far to get people close to it and happening in a time where you can't see it any other way. The theaters are dark, so I think it's good. It's special and I'm glad people get to see it."</p>

<p>"Even when the script switched and we realized it was going to be an event in our homes to heal us through this quarantine, now we're seeing that it is a light&nbsp;in a time of great pain and a need for revolution," Goldsberry said.&nbsp;"I find it humbling because I'm a part of something that I have no control over. And that's life, that's real, you know? But it scares me still to this day when I'm thinking, 'How can I talk about the greatest thing that ever happened to me at a time when I'm trying to be quiet so that the street can talk?'&nbsp;I'm encouraged because I realize it is always OK&nbsp;to talk about art. Art is always a reflection of our life that will always lead us forward when it's done in the spirit you know that God gives us. So I'm encouraged and I'm hopeful and always a little afraid. But this cast of people and the company of creators hold&nbsp;me up."</p>

<p>Earlier in the year, at the <a href="https://www.etonline.com/awards/oscars" target="_blank">2020 Oscars</a> in February, Miranda <a href="https://www.etonline.com/lin-manuel-miranda-on-bringing-hamilton-to-theaters-exclusive-141208" target="_blank">opened up to ET</a>&nbsp;about bringing <em>Hamilton</em> to the big screen.</p>

<p>"I'm very proud of 2016 us, because we had the foresight to film the show with the original company before the principals started leaving, so we've got the snapshot," Miranda shared.&nbsp;"I'm just really excited that we get to share it because we know how hard it is [to see it]."</p>

How to Watch 'Hamilton' on Disney Plus: Stream the Broadway Musical

<p>Team USA is going for the gold in men's basketball. The team will&nbsp;face off against France on Friday, aiming to make the <a href="https://www.etonline.com/event/olympics" target="_blank">Tokyo Olympics</a> the fourth consecutive Olympic Games that the Team USA men's team wins gold in the event.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Team USA defeated Australia 97-78 in the semi-finals on Thursday, thanks in part to&nbsp;Kevin Durant, who recently became the all-time leading scorer of U.S. men's basketball at the Olympics, surpassing Carmelo Anthony. The U.S. team goes&nbsp;head to head with some fellow NBA players on Friday, with&nbsp;Rudy Gobert, Evan Fournier and Nicolas Batum all playing for France.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The game will kick off from&nbsp;Saitama Super Arena in&nbsp;Tokyo&nbsp;at 10:30 p.m. ET / 7:30 p.m. PT on Friday -- and while much of the Olympics has been free to stream on Peacock, fans will need a paid subscription to watch the men's basketball final.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The U.S. men's basketball team isn't the only one in a gold medal match. The U.S. women's basketball team has advanced to a gold medal game against Japan, which will take place on Sunday. Team USA will also have the chance to win gold in women's water polo if they beat Spain on Saturday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After winning a bronze medal in the 400-meter dash, Allyson Felix became the most-decorated female track and field athlete, with 10 career medals. However, she could also become the most-decorated track athlete in Olympic history if the U.S. women's relay medals in the&nbsp;4x400-meter relay on Saturday.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>How to watch the closing&nbsp;ceremony:</strong> For the first time, NBC will air the closing ceremony live coast-to-coast on Aug. 8. The ceremony will take place at 8 p.m. Japanese Standard Time, which is&nbsp;7 a.m. ET/4 a.m. PT. Tokyo Olympics 2021: How to Watch the US Men's Basketball Gold Medal Game
