<p>Perhaps the most popular new mattress option these days is the <a href="https://www.etonline.com/amazon-october-prime-day-2022-mattress-sale-the-best-deals-you-can-shop-on-nectar-casper-and-more" rel="" target="_blank">mattress in a box</a>. When you're used to seeing a mattress laid out on a bed frame, it's hard to imagine how a boxed mattress will work. Will it fit your bed? Will it have a soft feel? Is there a firmer mattress that comes in a box?</p>

<p>We had all these questions, too. So we asked our style editor Marisa Runyon to sleep on the job, literally.&nbsp;</p>

After a cross-country move that resulted in ditching my 10-year-old mattress, I found myself in the market for a new bed for the first time in, well, a decade. And I didn't just need a new bed for my husband and I, I needed one for my daughter as well. So there was a lot to sleep on, pun intended.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With the evolution of the mattress in a box, choices are plentiful since the last time I shopped. Because&nbsp;I had multiple <a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-best-furniture-sales-to-update-your-home-for-the-new-year-lulu-and-georgia-west-elm-and-more" rel="" target="_blank">bedrooms to furnish</a>, I tried several brands, which means now I can give you the skinny on what to expect and where to buy.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>My Review:</strong></p>

<p>The DreamCloud mattress was my first&nbsp;mattress-in-a-box experience. My husband and I unboxed the mattress which is vacuum-sealed into a giant roll (for those who have not seen how the phenomenon of getting a very large item into an impossibly small box works). DreamCloud also includes a small razor blade tool that’s about the size of a credit card, to help you safely remove the plastic from around the mattress without risk of cutting yourself or slicing your brand new bed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Once you peel back the plastic, it pops open like a can of biscuits. Easy peasy. But before you can collapse onto it, the directions recommend waiting a full 24 hours before sleeping on it to allow it to properly re-inflate. This wasn’t ideal for us as we were exhausted after a day of moving into a new home, but I’m a stickler for following the rules, so we waited.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>After our first night on the DreamCloud, we were impressed by how comfortable it was. The quilted foam top layer felt incredibly soft just like our previous well-loved, more traditional mattress. Whereas I initially noticed how soft it was, my husband was impressed by how firm it was at the same time. Just like the other reviewers noted, the mattress is literally a dream to sleep on —&nbsp;soft and supportive.&nbsp;</p>

<p>One thing we immediately noticed is that we were in need of a box spring. Although the DreamCloud mattress is built to work without a box spring, you still need a platform bed frame to properly support the mattress. We have a traditional bed frame, so we found the mattress was sloping slightly at the head and foot of the bed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After having an issue in our last home with movers being unable to move our box spring up a narrow staircase and into our bedroom, we were thrilled to find a modular box spring option that arrived in several pieces for&nbsp;a more manageable move. It was a snap to put together and because&nbsp;it was only five inches thick, it kept the low-profile look that we wanted.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>My Review:</strong></p>

<p>For my daughter’s bedroom in our new home, we decided it was time to upgrade her to a larger mattress so that her room can double as a guest room if needed. We chose the Chill Hybrid. The mattress arrived similarly packed as our DreamCloud, rolled tightly in plastic and placed in a tall narrow box. However, the Cocoon by Sealy mattress directions instructed us to wait only 30 minutes before our new bed would be ready to go. After popping it open, it looked very full and ready to sleep on&nbsp;after only half an hour.&nbsp;</p>

<p>By comparison, the Cocoon mattress feels squishier than the DreamCloud, likely due to the memory foam top layer. This mattress envelopes you in softness, making it easy to fall asleep after tucking your kiddo in. (I speak from experience!)&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>As for the chill factor of the Chill Hybrid, this mattress is ideal for hot sleepers as we found the temperature control to be really effective —&nbsp;especially when two parents and a kid all end up in one bed.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>As many retailers gear up for Black Friday 2021,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.walmart.com/m/savings-spotlight" target="_blank">Walmart</a> is having a pre-holiday sale of their own. Beginning Nov. 3, the retailer is kicking off its&nbsp;"Black Friday&nbsp;Deals for Days" event -- a month-long sale that features unbeatable deals on top products across a number of categories, including: electronics, apparel, toys, home, beauty and more.</p>

<p>Here's <a href="https://www.etonline.com/walmart-black-friday-deals-for-days-2021-everything-to-know-173878" target="_blank">everything you need to know</a> about the event:</p>

<p>The "Deals for Days" spectacular will feature three separate sales -- with the first one&nbsp;beginning online on Nov. 3 and in stores on Nov. 5. This particular sale will have can't-miss savings on toys, electronics and vehicle tires. And while the sale is set to end on Nov. 7, it will boast markdowns on&nbsp;items like a&nbsp;55-inch TCL 4K Roku TV for only $228, the L.O.L. Surprise! Amazing Surprise Doll set for $64 and the Keurig K-Compact for just $35.</p>

<p>The second&nbsp;pre-Black Friday sale&nbsp;from the retailer&nbsp;will feature&nbsp;deals on items across apparel, home goods and more. This event is set to begin online on Nov. 10 and in stores on Nov. 12 -- with <a data-autotrack="false" data-link-format="text" data-link-region="body" data-link-subregion="ecom" data-link-type="skimlinks" data-promotional="true" data-store="walmart" href="https://www.walmart.com/plus" rel="sponsored" target="_blank" title="Walmart+">Walmart Plus</a> members getting access to the deals from 3-6 p.m. ET on Nov. 10. While full details of the second sale remain under wraps, shoppers can anticipate seeing items like&nbsp;the&nbsp;Blackstone 22-inch Griddle with a hard cover and carrying case (on sale for just $117), Walmart’s&nbsp;lightweight&nbsp;HP i3 Laptop (set to be marked down to $279)&nbsp;and the Shark EZ Robot Vacuum (which will be available for just $288).</p>

<p>Though Walmart has not released specifics on its third sales event, they did promise that it will "bring its biggest, best savings of the season for the most exciting shopping day of the year."&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>My Review:</strong></p>

<p>As someone who has a bit of natural color, I don't often use&nbsp;self tanner, but this one keeps me coming back.&nbsp;The color of the Norvell Sunless Tanner is rich and natural, and gave me an overall glow. It’s like foundation for your whole body, evening out your skin tone and brightening&nbsp;at the same time. This product is perfect to apply before a vacation,&nbsp;wedding or anytime you’re looking for a healthy&nbsp;glow.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The one drawback:&nbsp;I struggled a bit with the water mister bottle on my first try. I had to pump it a few times while applying the self tanner, which then forced me to&nbsp;blend a few places by hand. I got better with it the more I used it, so I'm attributing it to user error. The actual mist was incredibly fine, which helped to make the application much smoother than with a lotion or a foam self-tanning product.</p>

<p>Holy moly was this product fun to use! I have a couple spots in my brows that I typically fill in with pencil or powder, so I used the Maybelline Tattoo Brow like I typically would have used my other brow products. The thick liquid formula was easy to apply and dries down into a sticky gel. The best part is that&nbsp;the longer you leave it on, the longer the tint will last. After trying it&nbsp;and loving the results, I wanted to see what would happen if I kept it on overnight. I gave that a try for round two, and the tint lasted approximately two days.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Overall, this lipstick is not incredibly hydrating, but it really delivered with a subtle pink shade that complemented my complexion nicely.&nbsp;The soft pink shade that it transformed into&nbsp;lasted for hours. My only wish is that it didn’t have the larger pieces of glitter in the formula because they did not apply evenly. But if you love an effortless sparkly lip color, it's worth adding to your cart -- especially at the $4 price point.</p>
