Hoda Kotb Reveals She Went On Her First Date In Two Years

The 'Today' co-host made the revelation while on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show.'

Hoda Kotb is dating again!

In a candid conversation on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the Today co-host reveals a personal milestone she recently achieved - going on a date for the first time in over two years.

"I do have to say something, something did happen the other day that hasn’t happened in two years I had a date. I had a date," Kotb shares with Clarkson.

Understanding the significance of this step, Clarkson responds with encouragement, acknowledging, "That’s huge, that’s huge, even to be in a place to do that."

Reflecting on the experience, Kotb emphasizes that it was simply a date, downplaying any associated expectations or pressures.

In January 2022, after eight years together, Kotb and Joel Schiffman called off their engagement.

Kotb made the announcement during an episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna, sharing that she and Schiffman decided they were "better as friends and parents" than as an engaged couple. The two are parents to two daughters, Haley and Hope.

The Kelly Clarkson Show

On The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kotb inquires if Clarkson is dating, to which the singer and host admits, "Not at all, not even a little bit. I am really loving not having a man in my life. It's just too hard, it's too much."

Clarkson, who filed for dirove from Brandon Blackstock in 2020, elaborates on the challenges of balancing multiple roles -- including her career and the need to be fully present for her two children -- and highlights the difficulty of disconnecting from work obligations when at home.

Kotb then discusses Clarkson’s journey of "repotting," metaphorically describing the process of uprooting oneself and finding new fertile ground for growth. Clarkson recently relocated her family from Los Angeles to New York City.

Describing Clarkson as "flourishing," Kotb expresses her admiration and pride for her friend's journey of self-discovery and personal empowerment.
