'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Alum Lauren Manzo Confirms Divorce From Vito Scalia

The estranged couple, who tied the knot in July 2015, share daughter Markie, 6.

Former The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Lauren Manzo is opening up to her fans about her and her husband Vito Scalia's decision to call it quits after eight years of marriage.

On Tuesday, Manzo shared a video on Instagram confirming that she and Scalia had recently filed for divorce, saying that the decision had been long in the making.

"By now you guys have seen the news that has broken," the Manzo'd With Children star began in the video. "I just want to let you guys know we're all good. This has been done for a very long time. The last part of the process was filing. We were on the same page. This is something that we did together."

The 35-year-old reality star said that she and Scalia, 37, still "love and respect each other" and plan to "move forward as a family." The estranged couple share a daughter, Marchesa Anna Scalia, 6.

"All that matters to us is that our daughter is happy and healthy," Manzo continued. "Our privacy is important to us. We haven't been on TV in seven years, which is why we did not feel the need for some dramatic announcement. And we continue to move forward with love and respect for each other. And we will always be a family, and that's it. It's about our daughter and her privacy, because she didn't ask to be on TV -- we did."

According to documents obtained by The Sun on Monday, Scalia filed for divorce on Sept. 5, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

Manzo and Scalia tied the knot in July 2015, two years after getting engaged. The estranged couple first met when Scalia attended Fordham University in Manhattan with Manzo's brother, Albie. They got engaged in November 2013.

The nuptials were attended by the bride and groom's close friends and family -- including Manzo's mother, Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Caroline Manzo, father, Albert Manzo, and brothers, Albie and Chris -- and many Bravo stars such as her aunt, Dina Manzo, and Jacqueline Laurita, Caroline's sister and sister-in-law, respectively.

They welcomed their daughter in February 2017.  "My Markie Girl 💗," Manzo captioned an Instagram snap of her and the infant after giving birth.

Manzo appeared alongside her mom and brothers during the first five seasons of RHONJ, which premiered in 2009. She and her siblings also starred in the RHONJ spinoff Manzo'd With Children, which aired from 2014 to 2016.
