'Sister Wives' Star Janelle Brown Goes to the Beach With Grandchildren After Son Garrison’s Funeral

The TLC star enjoyed some special time with her grandkids.

Janelle Brown is getting away from Flagstaff, Arizona, in the wake of her son, Garrison Brown's, tragic death. After the Sister Wives star joined the entire Brown family for a funeral service in Flagstaff for Garrison over the weekend, she shared photos and videos of herself at the beach in North Carolina where her daughter, Madison Brush, lives with her three kids.

Madison shared a photo of Janelle holding the hands of her two eldest grandkids — Axel, 6, and Evie, 4 — and walking out to the ocean on her Instagram Story.

"Some water and sun therapy," Madison captioned the photo, tagging Janelle.

Janelle also shared a video of her grandkids playing in the surf to her own Instagram Story, writing, "Spring Break for the kiddos so we headed to the beach for the day. The weather was beautiful. The water was still chilly but it didn't stop Evie and Axel."

Prior to Garrison's death, Janelle told fans that she has been splitting her time between Arizona and North Carolina as she enjoys time with her kids and grandkids.

The much-needed escape to the East Coast comes after Garrison died last week at the age of 25, and a funeral service was held for him in Flagstaff over the weekend.

Flagstaff Police Department confirmed in a statement to ET that they were dispatched to Garrison's residence in Arizona and found him dead after being called by his younger brother, Gabriel. According to authorities, Garrison appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Foul play is not suspected.

In addition to Garrison, Janelle and her ex, Kody Brown, also share kids Logan, 29, Madison, 28, Hunter, 27, Gabriel, 22, and Savannah, 19.

After news broke of Garrison's death, Kody, Janelle, and Meri all released joint statements about the loss.

"Our family is deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy, Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him," the post read on Instagram. "This loss will leave such a big hole in our lives, and it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy during this time and join us in honoring his memory. Garrison, you are loved and will be missed! 💙💙"

Madison also shared a touching image of Garrison holding Axel and Evie, writing, "My words seem to fall short. Our hearts our broken and we are now swallowed with the love now left behind for this beautiful brother. 🩵 God be with you till we meet again. I’ll see you at the gates of Valhalla, feasting with our ancestors who battled before you. Until then, we must live in a more gray world without the light you brought."

Kody is the father of 18 children in total. His fractured relationship with his older children, specifically Garrison and Gabriel, was well-documented on TLC's Sister Wives. The polygamist accused his kids of not adhering to his rules during the COVID pandemic and disrespecting his only remaining wife, Robyn Brown.

Conversely, Kody's kids accused him of showing favoritism to Robyn over his other wives -- their mothers.
