Spice Girls Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Their Auditions With Rare Footage: Watch

March 4 marked the 30th anniversary of the Spice Girls' first auditions.

The Spice Girls are celebrating a very special anniversary!

March 4 marked 30 years since the iconic girl group -- which includes members Victoria Beckham, Mel C, Mel B, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton -- had their first auditions for the Spice Girls in 1994. To commemorate the milestone, the band shared a behind-the-scenes video of the said auditions to X (formerly Twitter).

"Today marks the 30th anniversary of the very first Spice Girls auditions!" they wrote. "What started back in 1994 has turned into an amazing journey, way beyond anything we could have ever imagined. Thank you to our fans for your support from day one #FriendshipNeverEnds."

In the video montage, set to their 1996 hit, "Wannabe," the women are shown dancing and goofing around with each other while wearing casual '90s outfits.

But that's not the only surprise the Spice Girls have in store for their 30th anniversary. According to Mel B, the band is cooking up something big

During a January appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Mel B confessed that the group is "definitely working on something together -- all five of us."

However, she didn't reveal any specifics, adding, "And by me just saying that I'm probably going to get into trouble again."

The last time the Spice Girls reunited was for their tour in 2013, though Beckham famously skipped out because she was reportedly "petrified" of performing.

Reflecting on what the formation of the Spice Girls means to her, Mel B told host Jennifer Hudson, "I was a Spice Girl at the age of 17. I'm old. I'm feeling old right now. But it is amazing that we've managed to kind of still stay friends. It's been 30 years. What you go through as a group... you are just welded together for life because you've been through such a crazy experience."

Mel B previously teased an exciting Spice Girls announcement when ET spoke to the singer in January 2023.

"COVID kind of set everything back," she said at the time. "I can't tell you exactly, but there's gonna be something that is gonna be announced pretty soon... That's gonna be a project that we're very excited about, and [it's] mainly for our fans."
