Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got engaged in November 2017, and since then, the two have made plenty of public appearances, which especially increased after they wed in May 2018. The Duchess of Sussex's sartorial style has been totally on point -- scroll through the gallery to see all of her looks since first being spotted with her fiance at the Invictus Games through their return to London after moving to Canada.
Green With Envy
Markle absolutely wowed in an emerald green Emilia Wickstead number for Commonwealth Day Service on March 9, where she reunited with in-laws Prince William and Kate Middleton. Her dress featured a dramatic asymmetric cape detail that floated in the wind. She accessorized with a coordinating William Chambers fascinator, mini satin Gabriela Hearst bag and beige Aquazzura pumps. Her hair was pulled back into a low bun and the makeup consisted of smoky, lined eyes, lengthy lashes, sheeny nude lip and a flush of shimmery pink on the cheeks.
Ravishing in Red
The Duchess of Sussex and husband Prince Harry made a very glamorous appearance at the Mountbatten Music Festival at the Royal Albert Hall in London on March 7 as part of their return visit to the United Kingdom. The former Suits actress looked breathtaking in a monochrome red ensemble that included a Safiyaa caped column gown, Aquazzura pumps, a silk cherry Manolo Blahnik clutch and crystal beaded drop earrings by Simone Rocha. Her husband looked just as dapper in his official red-and-black uniform that perfectly coordinated with his lady love.
Back in London
After relocating to Canada in January 2020, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made their first joint appearance on March 5. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Endeavour Fund Awards at Mansion House in London, where Meghan looked incredible in a fitted turquoise, short-sleeved Victoria Beckham knee-length dress and navy heels. She pulled her long hair back in a sleek ponytail and was holding a small navy clutch purse, while her husband looked quite dapper in a navy suit as he held an umbrella over him and his wife.
Hello 2020!
Meghan made her first official appearance of the new year with Prince Harry in London on Jan. 7. The duchess looked winter chic in a tonal ensemble of Stella McCartney camel coat, light brown H&M turtleneck, chocolate-colored satin skirt by Massimo Dutti and coordinating Jimmy Choo velvet pumps.
Perfect in Purple
The duchess rewore her purple Aritzia dress at the One Young World Summit opening ceremony on Oct. 21 in London. She last donned the dress back in January with a red coat.
Daytime Chic
The royal couple visited the Auwal Mosque in Bo Kaap on the second day of the South Africa trip on Sept. 24. The duchess was gorgeous in a khaki-colored belted maxi shirt dress by Staud, styled with affordable Sam Edelman flats.
Favorite Jumpsuit
The duchess rewore her black belted Everlane jumpsuit, which she previously sported on set of the cover photo shoot for her guest-edited British Vogue issue, while meeting female entrepreneurs at the Woodstock Exchange in Cape Town during her royal South Africa tour on Sept. 25.
Hello, South Africa!
The Duchess of Sussex kicked off her royal tour of South Africa with Prince Harry and baby Archie with a visit to the Nyanga township in Cape Town, dancing with the local children on Sept. 23. Meghan rocked a printed wrap dress from Mayamiko, a fair trade brand from Malawi, and Castaner espadrille wedges.
Working Girl
The duchess celebrated the launch of her Smart Set capsule collection in collaboration with Smart Works in London, on Sept. 12. Meghan was all smiles as she wore a Misha Nonoo white shirt and black Jigsaw trousers from the line, along with butterfly earrings, which belonged to Princess Diana.
Tennis Fan
While she may not be a professional tennis player, the Duchess of Sussex sure knows how to serve a nice look! Meghan opted for a white collared Givenchy shirt tucked into a Hugo Boss blue-printed maxi skirt as she attended the Wimbledon Finals to support pal Serena Williams with Kate and Pippa Middleton on July 13.
Christening of Archie
Meghan and Harry posed for an intimate photo from the christening of their son, Archie, in the Rose Garden at Windsor Castle on July 6. The duchess looked elegant in a simple white Dior dress and headpiece.
Royal Baby Is Born
What a beautiful family! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex strutted out of St George's Hall at Windsor Castle as they shared their first public moment with baby Archie on May 8. Meghan looked absolutely stunning wearing a white trench dress by Grace Wales Bonner paired with nude, pointed-toe heels.
Color-Blocked Beauty
During a visit to Birkenhead at Hamilton Square on Jan. 14, the former actress made a bold statement, pairing a vibrant red Sentaler coat and matching pumps with a fresh pop of purple via a Babaton by Aritzia dress. Check out all of the duchess' pregnancy looks.
Baby on the Way
The Duchess of Sussex was glowing in a white Karen Gee dress as she kicked off her and Prince Harry's royal tour of Australia, following the announcement of her pregnancy on Oct. 15, 2018.
Belle in Blue
The Duchess of Sussex opted for a sleeveless royal blue shift dress by Jason Wu and black heels when she and Harry attended the 100 Days of Peace concert, which commemorates the end of World War I, at London's Central Hall Westminster on Sept. 6. The event benefits three mental health charities, Heroes, Combat Stress and Heads Together.
Suit Game on Point
Chic menswear-inspired black outfits seem to be Meghan's favorite looks right now. Just days after surprising royal fans by wearing a tuxedo dress, the Duchess of Sussex attended the 2018 WellChild Awards in London on Sept. 4 with husband Prince Harry, a longtime supporter of the WellChild organization, where she donned an all-black ensemble that included an Altuzarra suit and a Deitas camisole blouse, as well as her signature low bun.
Blazing the Way
The Duchess of Sussex attended a charity gala performance of the Broadway hit Hamilton in London on Aug. 29 alongside her husband. She wore a sleek, black double-breasted blazer dress by Judith & Charles with matching suede Stuart Weitzman pumps and boxy metallic gold clutch for the event. The tux jacket silhouette was a polished choice for the evening, but its above-knee hem lent a touch of flirty vibes to her look, which unabashedly showed off her toned legs (they're always so shiny and moisturized!). It's an elevated take on sexy date night dressing and since it wasn't an official royal outing, Markle was able to ditch her tights for the chic ensemble, which was paired with small post earrings and an elegant chignon 'do.
Birthday Vibes
The former Suits star celebrated her 37th birthday on Saturday surrounded by friends -- at another couple's wedding! As one of Harry's oldest family friends, Charlie van Straubenzee, tied the knot with Daisey Jenks in Surrey, England on Aug. 4, the Duchess of Sussex looked as stylish as ever in a pleated Club Monaco shirtdress that featured an olive, pink and white skirt. She accessorized with a Philip Treacy fascinator, a knotted belt, black Aquazzura pumps and a clutch by Kayu.
Denim Darling
Meghan chose a dark blue chambray midi dress by Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera (the designer she wore to the Trooping the Colour ceremony in June) during her surprise appearance at the Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup at the Royal Country of Berkshire Polo Club in Windsor, England, on July 26. The denim design was a more casual choice for the royal but still appeared extremely polished with its tailored silhouette, wide belt that flatteringly cinched her waist and deep pockets. The beautiful A-line skirt floated with every step and the modest calf length provided enough coverage while the frock's open V-neckline and cap sleeves kept her cool in the heat.
Trench Talk
Meghan steps out in blush again! The Duchess of Sussex rewore a sleeveless pale pink trench dress by Canadian label NONIE while visiting the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition with Prince Harry at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, England, on July 17. She opted for an elegant monochrome look by accessorizing with matching Dior pumps and Mulberry bag, complete with her go-to Birks white quartz stud earrings and a messy bun. The former actress shopped her own closet for the event, proving a timeless investment piece like the double-breasted frock can be donned for many occasions -- a sartorial move her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, has become famous for. She has owned the piece for quite some time now, which she purchased in Toronto while she lived there filming Suits.
'Suits' Flashbacks
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex continued their two-day tour of Ireland on July 11, first meeting with the president of Ireland, Michael Higgins, and his wife, Sabina Coyne, at their residence in Dublin. The brunette beauty opted for a bateau dress yet again. She teamed the gorgeous gray long-sleeve crepe frock with swingy ruffle detail from Roland Mouret with black suede Paul Andrew pumps, Fendi peekaboo bag and Birks snowflake earrings, complete with a polished low bun.
Next, the power couple visited Croke Park and Famine Memorial on the bank of the River Liffey. The former actress gave us major Rachel Zane vibes, the character she played on USA's lawyer drama, Suits, when she stepped out in a black pantsuit of jacket and straight-leg trouser, thin buckle belt and pouch bag, all by Givenchy. We especially love that she styled the polished set with a casual white tee, finished with leather Sarah Flint pumps and her signature loose waves -- a chic outfit idea for the office.
Dior Darling
Meghan delivered major style on July 10, wearing three different outfits in one day! First, for the Royal Air Force 100 Ceremony at Buckingham Palace, the Duchess of Sussex wowed in a ridiculously chic custom black long-sleeve Dior dress with flouncy A-line skirt in London, complete with a matching Stephen Jones fascinator and light nude pumps. The stunningly simple yet impactful piece features, you guessed it, a bateau neckline and thin waist belt -- two components Markle has donned on numerous occasions.
Emerald Elegance
Next, the duke and duchess jetted off to Dublin, Ireland, for a two-day tour that included visiting various Irish organizations. The former Suits star changed out of her Dior dress into a forest green top and buttoned midi pencil skirt ensemble by go-to designer Givenchy with suede camel pumps, structured Strathberry brown leather tote and a low side-part bun. We adore her color choice to represent the Emerald Isle!
Chic and Sleek
For her third look of the day, Meghan chose a black square-neck belted midi by London-based designer Emilia Wickstead, a favorite of Kate Middleton, for a reception at the British Ambassador's official residence in Dublin. We have to admit the piece is a surprising choice, following the controversial comments allegedly made by Wickstead. The Daily Mail reported that she said Markle's Givenchy wedding gown was "identical" to one of her creations, along with criticizing the fit and her relaxed hairdo. The designer, however, addressed the claims on her Instagram.
Magnificent in Monochrome
The former Suits star was a vision in green as she attended Prince Louis' christening with Prince Harry at the Chapel Royal at Saint James's Palace in London on July 9. Meghan opted an olive green quarter-sleeve dress by Ralph Lauren, completing the look with matching accessories via a statement hat from Stephen Jones, suede Manolo Blahnik pumps and coordinating clutch, pulling off the monochrome trend in the chicest way.
Sunny Disposition
Just when we were used to seeing Meghan in her signature blush-colored ensembles for royal outings, the Duchess of Sussex surprised us all when she stepped out in a bright yellow dress for the Commonwealth Youth Forum reception in London on July 5. The brunette beauty turned heads in a canary sleeveless high-neck shift by Brandon Maxwell, complete with her go-to nude pumps. Her hair was pulled back in a sleek low bun with middle part, which complemented the polished look.
Pretty in Pink
The Duchess of Sussex couldn't have looked more stunning in a classic Prada look at the Young Leader Awards at Buckingham Palace on June 26. She donned a pale pink ensemble that included a double-breasted top with a bateau neckline and a matching midi skirt, which she cinched with a coordinating thin belt. Meghan accessorized with black suede Aquazzura pumps and Prada clutch.
Givenchy Goddess
The Duchess of Sussex made her Royal Ascot debut with her husband on June 19, stepping out to the annual horse race on their one month anniversary in another white creation by Givenchy. The former Suits star looked lovely in a collared dress with a black belt, pairing the flowy piece with a black-and-white hat by Philip Treacy, who has also become a fashion favorite for the newlywed. Meghan completed the look with black pumps, pulling her hair into a classy, low bun to show off her dainty earrings.
Paying Homage to Princess Diana
Meghan stunned yet again in a gorgeous floral dress while attending the wedding of Princess Diana's niece, Celia McCorquodale, in Stoke Rochford, England, in mid-June. The Duchess of Sussex was a fashion-forward guest in a blue-and-white botanical printed Oscar de la Renta number from its resort 2019 collection, accessorizing with white Aquazzura pumps, Carolina Herrera clutch and a Marks & Spencer fascinator atop. Royal fans on social media were quick to notice Meghan's frock coincidentally resembled a tunic Princess Diana wore in 1986 to a desert picnic during her royal tour of Saudi Arabia.
Hanging With the Queen
For her first solo appearance sans Prince Harry, Meghan accompanied Queen Elizabeth to Cheshire, England, on June 14 and all eyes were on the Duchess of Sussex as she stepped out in an elegant off-white dress with a statement shoulder overlay. The former Suits actress chose to not bare any shoulders this time, but the cape-like detail still added both interest and a fashion-forward vibe. A bespoke design by Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy, who created her now famous bateau neck wedding dress, the storied French brand is proving to become Meghan's go-to designer like Kate Middleton often enlists Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen for her royal ensembles.
Trooping the Colour Debut
It looks like Meghan is adapting to her new life as a royal -- but still making sure her style stands out. On June 9, the Duchess of Sussex attended her first-ever Trooping the Colour parade, an event which brings together over 1400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians to honor Queen Elizabeth II's official birthday. Stepping out with her husband, the former Suits star pulled out all the stops for her latest regal look, sporting a bouncy blowout reminiscent of Kate Middleton's signature locks. But instead of keeping with the other ladies sporting long-sleeved ensembles, Meghan strayed from tradition, sporting a custom pale pink off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress and matching Philip Treacy hat.
First Post-Wedding Event
Just three days after tying the knot with Prince Harry, the new Duchess of Sussex stepped out to an early birthday party for her father-in-law, Prince Charles, at Buckingham Palace on May 22. For her first royal engagement as an official member of the royal family, Meghan chose a pale pink taupe wool-crepe Flavia dress from Goat, which featured silk-chiffon sleeves and a paneled bodice. She accessorized the elegant look with rose earrings by Vanessa Tugendhaft and a Philip Treacy fascinator, keeping her hair pulled back into a sophisticated and smooth low bun. Staying true to British fashion etiquette, Meghan wore sheer white tights for the occasion, topping off her ensemble with matching pale pink pumps and a blush-hued clutch.
One Day, Two Outfits
The bride-to-be and her fiancé, Prince Harry, represented the royal family at the Anzac Day Service in London, England, on April 25, where Meghan looked as regal as ever in two royally-approved outfits.Taking a cue from her soon-to-be relatives, she accessorized both of her ensembles with hats, a staple in British fashion. For look number one, the Los Angeles native wore a wide-brimmed, floppy hat, which she paired with Sarah Flint Jay heels, a Gucci Dionysus bag, gray Smythe coat and a red poppy pin.
The Suits alum went with a more formal outfit for her second look of the day. She stepped out to Westminster Abbey in a black beret embellished with a dragonfly from milliner Philip Treacy, seemingly taking another style cue from Jackie Kennedy Onassis. She pulled it off perfectly by pairing it with a midi-length Emilia Wickstead dress suit and Jimmy Choo box clutch.
Chic and Respectful
Just hours after Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed a son at St. Mary's Hospital on April 23, Harry and Meghan stepped out in London to attend a memorial service at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, marking the 25th anniversary of the killing of Stephen Lawrence. For the somber occasion, the Suits alum opted for a dark sleeveless, printed belted dress by Hugo Boss, accessorizing with nude pumps and an envelope clutch and wearing her hair swept up in her trademark messy bun.
Cape It Off
For Queen Elizabeth II's star-studded 92nd birthday concert, the bride-to-be looked chic in a navy cape dress by Stella McCartney, blue suede Manolo Blahnik pumps and a gold patterned box clutch by Naeem Khan. Her brown locks were up in a polished updo with two strands framing her face, and her makeup consisted of a golden smoky eye shadow with bronzer and a creamy nude lip. Meghan adorably matched her fiancé, who also donned navy for his grandmother's birthday festivities.
Green With Envy
Meghan had spring fever at an Invictus Games reception in London on April 21, stepping out with Prince Harry in a green floral Self Portrait dress. She paired the fun frock with all-black pieces, including an Alexander McQueen blazer, Manolo Blahnik pumps and a Roland Mouret cross-body bag worn on just one shoulder.
Girl Power
Exactly one month before their wedding, Meghan and Harry met with representatives from charities that promote gender equality through girls' education at a Women’s Empowerment reception in London, England, on April 19. For the occasion, the former Suits star opted for Saks Fifth Avenue's Jackie O. drape knee-length dress, styling her frock with a pair of Aquazzura suede pumps, a tiny black belt, matching Gucci clutch and dainty swirl earrings by Birks.
Star in Stripes
The soon-to-be royal stepped out with Prince Harry on April 18 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London, England, for a reception honoring the delegates from the Commonwealth Youth Forum. Meghan looked spring chic in a white pinstripe dress from Altuzarra and a black blazer by Camilla and Marc. She wore her hair down and paired the look with stiletto heels from Tamara Mellon and a black-and-white striped purse.
Irish Beauty
The Suits alum wowed in a forest green Greta Constantine skirt, cream Victoria Beckham top, beige Mackage coat, and Jimmy Choo heels for a surprise visit to Belfast, Northern Ireland, on March 23. She paired the look with a brown Charlotte Elizabeth purse and wore her hair up in a sleek bun.
Fit for the Queen
The 36-year-old humanitarian attended her first royal public event alongside Queen Elizabeth at the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey on March 12. Meghan wowed in a cream-colored Amanda Wakeley coat with a white Stephen Jones hat and navy heels, completing the look with minimal makeup and her hair down in loose curls.
Wrap Star
On March 8 -- aka International Women's Day -- Meghan stepped out for appearances in Birmingham, England, in a sleek navy J. Crew wrap coat with white accents. She paired the look with black capri trousers, matching heels and a navy mini handbag with gold accents.
Natural in Navy
For her first official public appearance with her future in-laws, Prince William and Kate Middleton, which took place at the Royal Foundation Forum in London on Feb. 28, Meghan donned a navy Jason Wu wrap dress and strappy heels.
Harry's Valentine
Meghan and Harry made a special trip to Edinburgh, Scotland, on Feb. 13, arriving at the Esplanade outside Edinburgh Castle around lunchtime. The couple looked effortless, with the bride-to-be fittingly wearing a long green-and-blue tartan plaid Burberry coat, black wide-legged Veronica Beard trousers and black heels, with Harry matching in black jeans and a navy sweater with a gray overcoat. Though she's recently rocked several messy buns, the Suits alum wore her hair down and curled for the occasion.
Suiting Up
Meghan and Harry braved the London rain for the annual Endeavour Fund Awards on Feb. 1, where they donned matching suits. The brunette beauty kept her look simple and chic, stepping out in a black Alexander McQueen suit, crisp white button-down shirt and black heels, while her beau looked dapper in a blue suit and dark tie.
Back in Black
The actress stepped out in Wales with her fiancé on Jan. 18, wearing the same Stella McCartney coat that Christina Aguilera wore just days earlier. For visits to Cardiff Castle and Star Hub, Meghan also donned a checkered boatneck jacket, black trousers and boots and an emerald green handbag with a tassel closure.
Making Radio Waves
On Jan. 9, 2018, Meghan and Harry made their second official appearance together since announcing their engagement, visiting Reprezent, a radio station in London that provides educational and training programs for at-risk teens in the community. The future royal bundled up in a camel-colored Smythe Brando coat, Autograph wool sweater from Marks & Spencer and timeless black wide-leg trousers by Burberry. She accessorized with a beige scarf and black Sarah Flint pumps.
Christmas Cutie
The 2017 Christmas services at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, Sandringham, marked Meghan's first holiday appearance with her fiance, as well as the first time the engaged couple was photographed together with Kate and Prince William. For the big day, the former Suits star bundled up in a long camel wrap coat from Sentaler, a Canadian luxury brand she's worn four times before. (Though she's a Los Angeles native, the 36-year-old actress filmed the TV series Suits in Toronto, Ontario.) She paired the chic jacket with a two-toned suede crossbody Chloe bag, tan over-the-knee Stuart Weitzman boots and matching hat with a festive swirl detail and Birks snowflake earrings.
First Royal Engagement
The 36-year-old actress braved the chilly weather in Nottingham, England, for World AIDS Day charity events on Dec. 1, which also marked her first royal appearance with Harry. For the occasion, Meghan topped a tan Joseph midi skirt and black three-quarter-length Wolford top with a chic navy Mackage coat, finishing off her look with black over-the-knee suede boots by Violet. As for her fiance, he matched his bride-to-be by also sporting a blue coat.
Fully Engaged
Meghan appropriately looked like a blushing bride-to-be in a belted white wool coat by Canadian designer Line the Label, sleeveless forest green P.A.R.O.S.H. dress and nude-hued Aquazzura suede d'Orsay pumps with crisscross ankle straps at her and Harry's photocall after announcing their engagement on Nov. 27.
Invictus Games
The future princess looked casual yet cool in a white button-down, distressed light-wash jeans and tortoiseshell-framed sunglasses while attending the 2017 Invictus Games with Prince Harry in September 2017, the first public outing for the two as a couple.
